They are labelled alphabetically as several contain chromosomes of more than one pair due to variable amounts of heterochromatin in homologues, causing size differences. Note that there is no peak equivalent to CDR peak 4 in the dromedary (see Fig. 4) as, due to size difference, the equivalent chromosome is present in alpaca VGA peak D
